Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Jericho, the oldest town in the world. Walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Taste new food, experience a fascinating culture, language and lifestyle. Develop links with communities and watch faith grow!
All this – and more – is possible with a Pilgrimage People school pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Our trips combine the opportunity to experience liturgies in the actual places mentioned in the bible with faith in action; your students will engage with and hopefully establish lasting relationships with Christian communities in the Holy Land. Whatever the final itinerary you choose for your trip, all pilgrims will return with their faith and spirituality enriched.
Not only does a pilgrimage to the Holy Land offer students the opportunity to bring RE alive, but also to gain an insight to the history, geography and politics of one of the most fascinating and complex areas of the world.
Stay in a peaceful retreat centre on the shores of Galilee where you can watch the sun rise over the lake or on a Kibbutz or in one of Bethlehem’s wonderful Arab hotels. A visit to one of the Refugee camps and to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum gives a balanced insight into the culture and history of this troubled land. The first steps to peace do indeed come through understanding and our trips hope to open minds to the complexities and possibilities of the political situation.
“Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to experience the marvellous culture and gain a little insight and knowledge into the situation which I hope in the future to make stronger. It is a place I would otherwise really have had absolutely no idea about.”
We would be happy to discuss a possible pilgrimage from your school. Staff and students who have been on one of our trips would be pleased to share with you their own experiences.
